Trainers equipped with the unique item, the Dynamax Band, have the ability to Dynamax their own Pokémon, amplifying their abilities in battle. The Pokémon Sword and Shield games introduce a host of new features that enhance the gaming experience. The Dynamax phenomenon, unique to the Galar region, allows Pokémon to grow in size and strength, adding a new layer of strategy to battles. The Wild Area, a first in the Pokémon series, provides an open-world experience, allowing players to explore and discover new Pokémon species.

The Galar region is rich in diversity, from the idyllic countryside and contemporary cities to the thick forests and snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon who live here work together closely to develop the industries in the region. Trainers will find a variety of Pokémon living in the Wild Area than anywhere else in the Galar region. The Pokémon you’ll run into will change depending on the weather and location, so there’s always a surprise waiting for you!

Pokémon Sword and Shield also introduce the concept of Gigantamax, which not only increases a Pokémon’s size but changes its appearance too. Only certain species of Pokémon can Gigantamax—and even among such species, only rare specimens will be able to. Gigantamax Pokémon become incredibly powerful and their G-Max Moves are a sight to behold!

The games also feature a cooperative four-player mode, where you can team up with friends and family to take on powerful Pokémon in Max Raid Battles. These are a truly collaborative effort, requiring strategic thinking and teamwork to emerge victorious.
